Storyboard

I worked on the initial storyboard for the Romance section and the Cooking section.

The idea in the script for the romance section was two lovers who were forced into separation by a wall, in this case Bobby, and overcoming it. I tried to make it similar to Romeo and Juliet in the sense that it was love that came fast and made them make rash decisions. Obviously our story is more so comedy and has no dialogue. The two books in the short time they have in the story get to fall in love, declare love, be separated and overcome their big obstacle.

The cooking section was much simpler in the idea because it was based on a meme. But quite frankly I had no clue how I wanted to convey it with books. I tried my best with it but quite frankly it was hard to convey the chaotic energy of the original. At first my idea was to make it look like a complete sandwich and have all the lairs be books with different personalities. But because of the number of books the scene feels far too stiff. My lack of understanding on how to make this is probably what resulted in the final animatic being so different from my initial idea.

I was then also assisting with the editing of the final animatic but I didn't draw any more of the storyboard.

By pure coincidence I was the one who ended up animating the sections. This has to some extent allowed me to influence the sections more than anyone else from the group.

Meme explanation

Gordon Ramsey, holding a chef's face between two pieces of bread: WHAT ARE YOU!?

Chef: An idiot sandwich…
